Ezio FrigerioTeatro Fernán Gomez, Spain
DIRECTOR Ángel Roger, Giorgio Ursini
Assistant scenography, Restoration Felype de Lima
The work of the scenography designer consists of reinventing reality. To harbour feelings, experiences, questions, cries ... To build a world full of aesthetic connotations that hosts and wraps every thought, movement and gesture. The scenography designer is a craftsman of the imagination, a maker of dreams and architect of the impossible, someone who transforms their dreams into real worlds where words, smells, art and the soul can thrive.
The Centro Cultural de la Villa pays tribute to the designer Ezio Frigerio with a major exhibition that looks at the creative world of the artist and the mark that he, along with his wife and colleague, costume designer, Franca Squarciapino, has left in Spanish theatres over the last 25 years. The exhibition includes thirty-five figurines, scene fragments, furniture, props, drawings and sketches.
Frigerio was born in the Italian province of Como in 1930, he has worked on about 350 shows throughout his career, which, as stated in the exhibition, began at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan in 1955.
